Watching the Grinch each Christmas is a tradition of mine, and I always like to pair a viewing with a festive, Grinch-themed punch!
To keep things fresh, I try to make a different punch every year, which inspired me to share a few of my favorite Grinch punch recipes along with some new ones I eventually want to try out.
Before jumping into the recipes, let’s just get this out of the way: it’s no secret the different versions of the Grinch can be a super divisive topic. I’ll go ahead and put my reputation on the line by admitting that I actually LOVE the Jim Carrey Grinch.
I’m not sorry about it. The animated Grinch movies are also great, but if I’m being real with you, the non-animated version has my heart.
The only interpretation of the Grinch I refuse to watch is the musical version starring the dude from Glee. It’s beyond creepy and almost sardonic. I literally couldn’t finish it and almost had to book a therapy session to process what my eyes had just taken in.
But anywho, I digress! Whether you’re a fan of the original animated Grinch or the Jim Carey Grinch, these punches are sure to enhance your Grinch viewing experience.
They’re mean, green, and boozy enough to make any Grinch’s heart grow three sizes! So let’s holiday who-be hop right into it!
Tipsy Grinch Punch
This punch gets its festive, neon color from lemon-lime Kool-Ade and its booziness from vodka! Watching the Grinch while sipping on this results in a lot of nostalgia for my childhood and all of the warm, fuzzy feels.
Important note: Christmas doesn't come from a store, and unfortunately neither does lemon-lime Kool-Ade in most cities, so if you can't find it at the grocery store, order it on Amazon ahead of time!
Grinch Drink
This punch doesn't need ribbons, tags, packages, boxes, or bags, but it does require Peach Schnapps, Bacardi and Blue Curacao!
The only other ingredients are orange juice and lemon-lime soda, so if you want a punch that will have you fa la la la falling on the floor, this is the recipe for you!
Light and Fruity Grinch Cocktail
This drink only requires 4 ingredients and whips up in 5 minutes or less, so it won't add any holiday stress to your plate! The green color comes from Midori, which is a melon-flavored liqueur.
Other ingredients include rum, lemon-lime soda, and a maraschino cherry on top to add a some extra pizzazz.
Fizzy Grinch Punch
This is another easy, quick recipe that only needs 4 ingredients and takes 5 minutes to make! It's a perfect punch for those with a sweet tooth and is made with lime sherbet, sparkling wine, and Izze Clementine Sparkling Soda. If you can't find any Izza soda though, Sprite would do the trick just as well!
Grinch Christmas Cocktail
I haven't tried this recipe yet, but I'm very intrigued! It uses four different spirits: cherry vodka, Blue Curacao, coconut rum, and Midori, so it's super tropical, fruity, and boozy.
If you want to feel like you're watching the Grinch on a beach, whip up a batch of this mean, green drink!
The Best Grinch Margarita
Speaking of beaches, I am all about this Grinch margarita! This spin on a margarita uses white cranberry juice, tequila, triple sec, and green food coloring to give it its Grinchy hue.
It's admittedly more of a cocktail than a punch, but it would be easy enough to increase the ingredient amounts for a bigger batch -- it'd just have to be stirred instead of shaken.
Boozy Grinch Milkshakes
Milkshakes are really just frozen punches in a blender instead of a bowl! This gorgeous glass of green goodness is a pretty classic milkshake recipe with the addition of vanilla vodka and Peppermint Schnapps to make it extra festive. I'm beyond sold.
