These 7 Christmas sangria recipes are festive, delicious, and perfect for any holiday event! They’re also extremely easy to make, so they’re guaranteed not to add any extra holiday stress to your plate.
Nothing says Christmas to me like a bowl of something filled with seasonal spices, fruity liqueurs, and all of the wine! I absolutely love celebrating the holidays with friends and family, and few things bring people together like a big batch cocktail.
What is Sangria?
Sangria is one of the most festive drinks and is SO versatile. It originated in Spain, and traditionally is made with Tempranillo red wine, chopped fruits, bandy, and a little sugar. While this is still a popular way of making sangria, you can really make sangria with any color and type of wine, juices, spices, herbs, liquors, spirits, and so on.
This is all to say there are so many different flavor and ingredient options/combinations, and there’s almost never a wrong answer. You can get as creative as you want, which is why I love looking up sangria recipes!
When looking for sangrias, I picked out recipes with two criteria in mind:
1. They have to be easy to make (10 minutes or less to mix together, not including the time it needs to sit in the fridge)
2. They have to be almost obnoxiously Christmasy and festive
I also wanted to choose recipes that were unique and featured different juices, wines, and flavors to make sure there’s a sangria on this list for everyone! This means you’ll find white, red, pink, and sparkling sangrias.
So with all of this in mind, let’s get right into the recipes!
7 Easy and Delicious Christmas Sangria Recipes
White Christmas Sangria
I wanted to kick off the list with a white sangria since those are usually my favorite!
This sangria is super popular and well-reviewed, and sounds absolutely delish! It calls for white wine (they recommend Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay), sparkling apple cider, and sugar. Otherwise, you just need cranberries, green apples, and rosemary for the garnish!
The Ultimate Holiday Sangria
The name here really says it all! This sangria is traditional in many ways, but has a few festive twists. It uses brandy and grand marnier for an extra boozy kick, then you add ginger ale on top for a little fizziness.
So this recipe is great if you want a more classic sangria for the holidays! It's citrusy, spicy, fruity, and almost too drinkable.
Holiday Rosé Sangria
Some people think rosé is only for the summertime, but they couldn't be more wrong! Rosé is great any time of year, and I think it's actually a festive and fun change of pace during the holidays.
The recipe calls for rosé (I'd use a dry rosé), sparkling apple cider, and raspberry & tart cherry cordial. It sounds like the best of all worlds: sweet, tart, bubbly, and delicious!
Sparkling Holiday Champagne Sangria
If you're looking for a simple recipe, this one is about as easy as it gets! Though it looks like a red sangria, it actually gets its color from cranberry juice. The only other ingredients aside from two garnishes are white wine and sparkling wine.
Throw some orange wedges and cranberries on top and you have a beautiful, bubbly Christmas sangria in no time!
Festive Holiday Sparkling Red Sangria
Speaking of sparkling sangria, this recipe sounds fa la la la fab! (Sorry, had to). This sangria includes red wine, sparkling wine, cognac, amaretto, and some orange juice.
I love the addition of amaretto in a sangria, which will give it subtle cherry and almond flavors.
Slow Cooker Winter Sangria
There's nothing like a hot beverage when it's cold outside, and luckily not all sangria needs to be served chilled! This take on a sangria takes all of the traditional sangria ingredients and throws them into a slow cooker.
For me, mulled wine is the quintessential holiday drink. It's warm, cozy, boozy, and spicy, making it perfect for sipping in front of the fireplace and watching the snow fall.
Easy Christmas Sangria
To finish off our list, we have a simple recipe with a few very unique ingredients. For the base, you combine Fresca, frozen orange juice concentrate, limeade, and red wine with vodka and vodka-soaked fruit. You top everything off with lime soda water so it has a little bit of effervescence and a final citrusy kick.
Not only does this sangria scream Christmas, but the author of this recipe claims its the BEST red sangria they've ever had. For these two reasons alone, it's definitely worth whipping up for your next holiday party!
I don’t know about you, but these sangria recipes have me SO excited for my next holiday party. Which of these recipes piqued your interest the most? Or do you have a go-to holiday sangria that you think blows these recipes out of the water? Either way, let me know in the comment section below!
