Hang onto your heads — it’s about that time of year again my witchy friends! Gourds galore, crisp air, colorful leaves, and our three favorite spooky sisters.
If you’re already here, then you’re probably aware that Hocus Pocus 2 came out this September 30th! Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy all returned to play their legendary roles on the big screen.
This is basically the Super Bowl of Halloween movies, ya’ll. Without the sports. Or competition. Maybe I don’t know what the Super Bowl is? But I was legitimately more excited for this than for my own wedding.
Anyway… watching Hocus Pocus on repeat is a special October tradition of mine (and of many others), so I thought we all could use a round up of the spookiest and most fun drinks to accompany the TWO movies.
Halloween is my fave holiday, so I like to do everything in my power to be over the top and festive, just like these drinks.
These 10 Hocus Pocus themed drinks are perfect for a Hocus Pocus viewing party or just any Halloween get together that you want to bring a little Sanderson magic to.
Any of these cocktails would also be perfect to sip on while playing a Hocus Pocus drinking game! Naturally, I have you covered on that front: here’s my drinking game for the original Hocus Pocus and my drinking game for Hocus Pocus 2. Be careful: they’ll knock even the most powerful witch off their broomstick!
The recipes range from sangria to boozy milkshakes — no children here! But they’ll still put you in the right witchy mindset for the season and you’re guaranteed to love them if you’re half as Halloween-obsessed as myself.

10 Hocus Pocus Themed Drinks
Sanderson Sister Black Sangria
What better way to get into the Hocus Pocus spirit than with a darker-than-blood black Sanderson Sister Sangria? It's also super simple: a few fruits, red wine, brandy, and pomegranate juice. Just make sure you're wearing black because I don't think you'd be getting this stain out of a white shirt.
Rum Amuck Rumchata Milkshake Cocktail
There's nothing quite like a boozy milkshake! Named after the famous exchange between Winifred and Sarah Sanderson, this drink is as frivolous and sweet as the youngest Sanderson sister. It's another simple recipe: Rumchata, ice cream, and a bloody chocolate drizzle.
Hocus Pocus Life Potion Cocktail
You won't find any children in this life potion, but you will see rum, sour apple pucker, lemon lime, and edible glitter. If you've ever used edible glitter before, you know it's a beast that can't be controlled and your floors should be afraid. Very afraid. Still worth it though for this spooky brew!
Orange Hocus Pocus Fizz
This drink looks like an eerie brew, but it's actually super tropical and fruity! The color comes from red and yellow food coloring, and the fizz comes from sparkling wine. My favorite part is the graveyard gummy worm rim, which is by no means required but elevates the drink to a much higher level of spook.
The Monster Smash
Everyone's favorite Halloween song inspired this booze-filled concoction. Though not directly related to Hocus Pocus, this drink pays homage to the monsters of the movie and two of the best characters: BooooOOOOOOOOK and the occasionally headless Billy Butcherson.
Halloween Hocus Pocus Punch
This cocktail is a straight up spooky show stopper. The dry ice and neon green color give it the appearance of a bubbling cauldron. Put some sprinkles on the rim and I am sold. Dead man's toe optional.
Another Glorious Morning Hocus Pocus Halloween Drink
"Oh look, another glorious morning! It makes me sick." There are so many iconic lines from his movie, but this one might take the cake. I always love a cleverly named drink and this one also happens to be incredibly easy to make. Just two ingredients: Sparkling Ice Black Raspberry and vodka.
The Witch's Heart
By far the most mystical cocktail on this list! This drink uses a "shimmery" liqueur -- essentially a liqueur with luster petal dust, which she also has a recipe for on the blog -- to gives it its otherworldly quality. More effort than some of these other drinks? Maybe. But totally worth it to be sipping on this magically witchy concoction.
Hocus Pocus Halloween Cocktail
Another cocktail that you wouldn't guess will make you feel like you're riding your broom (or vacuum) to the beach! Coconut rum, Paradise Blend juice, club soda, and some festive black sprinkles are all you need to make this easy but delicious drink.
Witch's Brew Easy Halloween Cocktail
To finish our list off, we have a super simple cocktail with only three ingredients: grape juice, prosecco, and Chambord. So... basically a fancy, witchy version of a mimosa. Count me in.
Let me know which of these drinks put a spell on you or if you have your own concoction you like to make when you have your best witches over for a Hocus Pocus night.
Goodbye for now cruel world! May you all have the happiest of Halloweens!
