These unique and delicious cocktails all use Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey as a main ingredient and are a peanut butter lover’s DREAM.
Whether you love tropical drinks, decadent martinis, or more elegant, balanced cocktails, these peanut butter whiskey cocktail recipes will surprise you and prove that everything really IS better with peanut butter!
What is Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey?
Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey is a 70 proof, peanut butter flavored whiskey made by a husband (Steve) and wife (Brittany) team based in San Diego, California.
The idea for Screwball came about after Steve made a peanut butter whiskey cocktail to serve at his bar and restaurant. It was a HUGE hit with his customers, so he and Brittany, who as luck would have it is a lawyer and chemist, decided to produce a peanut butter infused spirit.
Thus, Skrewball was born. #couplegoals for REAL.
It was the first peanut butter whiskey to hit the market in 2018, and in 2019 it won a double gold medal for Best Flavored Whiskey at the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition.
Is Skrewball Actually “Whiskey”?
Since it’s only 70 proof, Skrewball is technically not a whiskey. Instead, it’s more accurately described as a flavored spirit made with alcohol from grains that are used to make whiskey.
So even though it’s labeled as “Whiskey with natural flavors and caramel color”, it’s ultimately a flavored spirit. They can get away with calling it whiskey because regulations around spirit labeling in the USA are surprisingly lax.
What Does Skrewball Taste Like?
When you first try Skrewball, you’ll immediately smell sugary nuts, honey, vanilla, and caramel.
It has a thick texture, to the point where you can drizzle it over ice cream.
Tastewise, Skrewball is exactly what you would expect: sweet honey, roasted nuts, and just a subtle bite from the alcohol.
It’s beyond delicious in cocktails, as a topping for desserts, or even on its own.
What Can You Mix With Skrewball?
Skrewball is surprisingly versatile and works well with a wide range of mixers. Some popular mixers to use with Skrewball are the following:
- Fruit Liqueurs
- Dessert Liqueurs
- Coffee/Coffee Liqueurs
- Ice Cream
- Milk/Cream
- Seedless Fruit Jelly
- Dark-Colored Sodas
- Fruit Juices
These are just to name a few. For specific Skrewball cocktail recipes and more mixers that you can use with Skrewball, read on!

21 Unique Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey Cocktails
Peanut Butter Whiskey Moscow Mule
Starting off, we have a super interesting take on a Moscow Mule.
Traditionally, Moscow Mules are made with ginger beer, lime juice, and vodka. This recipe also uses vodka and ginger beer, but substitutes lime juice with orange juice and adds in a shot of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey.
The result is a spicy, citrusy, and nutty cocktail that's unexpected, but totally delicious.
Peanut Butter Old Fashioned
This is such a fun riff on an Old Fashioned, and it's super simple to make!
The typical recipe for an Old Fashioned calls for whiskey (usually bourbon or rye), sugar, and Angostura bitters. In this rendition of an Old Fashioned, peanut butter whiskey is used in place of bourbon or rye.
Since Skrewball is sweet enough on its own, there's no need for sugar in this cocktail, which means you really only need 2 ingredients for this tasty drink: Skrewball and angostura bitters. Garnish with an orange peel and maraschino cherry and sip away!
Tropical Paradise Peanut Butter Whiskey Cocktail
Most people wouldn't think to put peanut butter whiskey in a tropical drink, but this sounds beyond tasty!
The base of the cocktail is a combination of cream of coconut, light rum, Skrewball, pineapple juice, cinnamon simple syrup, and two dashes of aromatic bitters.
It's creamy, sweet, fruity, nutty, and would be a fun alternative to a Pina Colada.
Peanut Butter Banana Julep – The Elvis
For those who aren't familiar with The Elvis, it's a sandwich made with peanut butter, banana, and sometimes bacon.
This recipe combines these flavors in a unique way by putting them in a Julep, which is a beloved drink made with bourbon, sugar, water, and mint.
Since peanut butter and mint can be clashing flavors, this cocktail is simply garnished with a sprig of mint instead of it highlighting mint as a main flavor so that the peanut butter can take the lead role.
To make it, combine bourbon, Banane du Bresil, Skrewball, and dark chocolate bitters in a glass with ice and stir well. Garnish with a mint sprig and enjoy!
The Elvis Sandwich Shot
On the subject of Elvis... this is more of a shot than a cocktail, but it's so fun that I thought it deserved an honorable mention! I mean, who wouldn't want a drink garnished with bacon!?
The shot is equal parts peanut butter whiskey, Creme De Banana (like DeKuyper), and Irish Cream (like Baileys).
So if you wanted as a cocktail, you could easily just increase the ratios. Regardless of what size you make it, you just HAVE to make sure to add a piece of crispy bacon on top.
PB&J Cocktail
That's right -- your favorite sandwich from childhood (and if you're me, adulthood), is just as good in the form of a cocktail!
This recipe is also incredibly simple and only requires 3 ingredients: Skrewball, seedless fruit jelly (they recommend strawberry, but grape would work just as well), and fruit-flavored bitters.
Put the ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake well, and then this nostalgic, tasty drink is ready to go. Bonus points if you garnish it with a tiny PB&J on a skewer!
Peanut Butter Jelly Thyme Cocktail
Here's another fun riff on a PB&J cocktail that's a bit more elevated! This one uses Skrewball, blackberry liqueur (like Giffard Creme de Mure), Angostura bitters, and fresh thyme.
So it's sort of a twist on a Manhattan, which is a cocktail made with whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. It just subs out the sweet vermouth for blackberry liqueur and the whiskey for Skrewball, which results in a nuttier, more decadent cocktail that's still elegant and well-balanced.
Pumpkin Hot Buttered Skrew
If you love pumpkin and peanut butter, this is the cocktail for you!
This cozy cocktail is made with Skrewball, pumpkin pie spice, sugar, butter, star anise, and cinnamon sugar. Add the sugar and butter to hot water and stir together till blended, then put in the Skrewball and star anise, and finally garnish with cinnamon sugar.
It'd be so wonderful in the fall when it's cold outside and you need a drink to sip around a bonfire.
Apple Cider Peanut Butter Whiskey Cocktail
This is another cozy cocktail that's basically fall in a glass!
Apple cider and peanut butter whiskey at first seem like an unexpected combination, but apples and peanut butter are a famously wonderful snack, so it makes perfect sense they'd play well together in the form of a drink.
For the rim, you dip the glass in peanut butter followed by cinnamon sugar. Then the cocktail itself is only two ingredients: apple cider and peanut butter whiskey. Put a shot of whiskey in your peanut butter rimmed glass, heat up the cider on the stove, and pour the cider on top of the whiskey.
It's easy to make in a big batch for tailgating or any fall party!
Banana PB&J Sour
Everyone loves a whiskey sour, but have you ever had a peanut butter whiskey sour?
A whiskey sour is almost always made with whiskey, lemon juice, sugar or simple syrup, and egg white to give it its signature frothiness.
This recipe still uses lemon juice and egg white, but otherwise takes a unique approach to the cocktail by incorporating Skrewball, banana liqueur, strawberry jam, and Orgeat, which is a sweet syrup made from almonds.
I love a good whiskey sour, and this one sounds like it'd be fantastic for dessert or as a night cap!
Peanut Butter Irish Coffee
This recipe is for anyone who likes their coffee on the sweeter, nuttier side of the spectrum.
The foamy whipped cream is a homemade peanut butter whipped cream made with Skrewball, heavy cream, and sugar. After that, all you need for the drink is freshly brewed coffee, more Skrewball, and a pinch of brown sugar.
It's the perfect pick-me-up for peanut butter and coffee lovers alike!
Peanut Butter & Kahlua Espresso Martini
If you prefer cold brew, give this coffee cocktail a try instead! It's made with peanut butter whiskey, espresso cold brew, simple syrup, heavy cream, and Kahlua, which is a coffee liqueur.
Add the whiskey, cold brew, simple syrup, and Kahlua to a shaker with ice, shake it like you mean it, then pour into a martini glass.
For the frothy top, you just whisk up heavy cream and a little simple syrup, and pour it on top of the martini.
Peanut Butter Cup Cocktail
This isn't the most unique cocktail on the list, but it was too delicious not to include!
It's also extremely easy to make. All you need is Skrewball, chocolate liqueur (like Godiva), milk, and salt to taste.
Put it all in a glass with ice, stir well, and you're done. Garnish with a peanut butter cup and enjoy as a dessert or even with brunch.
Peanut Butter Whiskey Spiked Eggnog
Eggnog is a MUST during the holiday season, and peanut butter whiskey will give it an extra punch of flavor and deliciousness!
This is another 3-ingredient recipe that only calls for Skrewball, eggnog, and a pinch of nutmeg. So really, it's only 2 ingredients since the nutmeg is optional, which is perfect for the holidays since it won't add any extra stress to your plate and is easily made in a big batch.
This would be a great way to mix up your traditions if you make eggnog every year and would no doubt be a crowd-pleaser.
Peanut Butter Whiskey Milk Punch
Speaking of the holidays, this peanut butter whiskey milk punch has ALL the festive flavors and is made to be shared with friends and family.
Usually, milk punch is made with bourbon or brandy, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. This recipe uses Skrewball instead of brandy or bourbon, along with chocolate liqueur, caramel syrup, vanilla extract, and half and half.
Shake all the ingredients together in a shaker with ice, then pour into a glass with crushed ice. For a bigger batch, you can combine the ingredients in a milk jug or pitcher. Just be sure to shake or stir well and serve over ice, and you'll have a cocktail that definitely won't make it through the night.
Skrewball Paloma
This unique cocktail comes straight from Skrewball's website, so you know it's good!
A Paloma is traditionally made with tequila, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and club soda.
This unique twist on a Paloma still uses tequila, grapefruit juice, and club soda, but it uses Aperol for acidity instead of lime juice and adds in Skrewball to give it a sweet, nutty flavor.
Have your friends guess the ingredients to see if they can figure out what's in this delicious drink! It's bubbly, tart, a little sweet, and refreshingly unexpected.
Skrewball White Russian
White Russians are a fantastic night cap or dessert cocktail, and this one sounds especially tasty. This classic cocktail is made with vodka, coffee liqueur, and cream.
This interpretation of a White Russian still uses the above three ingredients, but it also adds in a hefty pour of Skrewball. So it's essentially a slightly sweeter, nuttier version of a White Russian.
Peanut Butter Whiskey and Coke
This definitely isn't your grandpa's whiskey and Coke recipe!
Coke is one of the most versatile mixers, and we've established peanut butter makes everything better, so naturally Skrewball and Coke is a magical combination.
This riff on a whiskey and Coke is going to be sweet, nutty, and perfect for the peanut butter lovers in your life.
Peanut Butter Whiskey Milkshake
The only thing that could make peanut butter whiskey even better is to put it in a milkshake!
You only need three ingredients for this tasty treat: vanilla ice cream, Skrewball, and creamy peanut butter. Throw the ingredients in a blender, then serve topped with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle.
And if you want to make it even more boozy and delicious, top it off with another drizzle of Screwball!
Peanut Butter Fizz
In the cocktail world, a fizz is really just a sour with the addition of soda water to make the drink extra foamy.
This fizz uses Skrewball, coffee liqueur, cognac, milk, egg white, chocolate bitters, and soda water. So it's similar to a Brandy Alexander, which is a famous cocktail made with brandy or cognac, chocolate liqueur, cream, and sometimes egg white, but with a few fun and refreshing twists.
It's fizzy, refreshing, and has the ultimate flavor trifecta of chocolate, coffee, and peanut butter. YUM.
Bacon Infused Peanut Butter Whiskey
To finish us off, we have a super interesting recipe that's made with bacon fat and Skrewball.
It might sound strange at first, but this is actually a popular cocktail making technique called fat washing, which involves adding some form of fat (bacon grease, butter, etc) to a spirit, storing it in the fridge, and then removing the fat.
Fat washing with bacon gives the Skrewball a more velvety, round texture along with smoky, savory flavors. Serve it on the rocks and garnish with a piece of chocolate covered bacon for an elegant, show-stopping cocktail.
And that’s a wrap! I don’t know about you, but reading about all of these delicious cocktails makes me want to run to the store ASAP to get some of these ingredients. It is Friday, after all!

This sounds delish! I don't have an exact recipe, but I would just follow the recipe here for the peanut butter whiskey kahlua espresso martini and add in a half ounce of creme de cacao or chocolate liqueur. That should do the trick and let me know how it is if you end up making it!
